Fly Catchers
Protective Parents
(family name is Passeriformes)
Relative to Thrushes and Robins. The one we mainly see here is Caribbean Elaenia which has whitish wing bars which help identify this from other flycatchers. They build flimsy, shallow nests of twigs and have two to three salmon- colored eggs with lilac and brown markings at the broad end. They catch bugs and smack them around to tenderize them before they eat them.
