St. John
Tour wants to help you explore our little Caribbean island in the
United States Virgin Islands! From the comfort of your own home
you can plan your next St John all inclusive vacation, preview some of our spectacular
views and pristine beaches, our hiking
trails and the early Danish Plantation
ruins. You can learn about our local wildlife - both plant
and animal. Throughout our text you will
find helpful links to virtually every activity and pastime available
on St John. We can help you plan your St
John wedding, honeymoon, or just a relaxing quiet vacation.
We offer everything from vacation
villa rental accomodations, interesting activities, services
available, and even ferry
schedules.
Whether exploring by land or by sea, you are bound
to discover treasures unique to our area of the world. Since over
half of St. John is preserved as a U.S.
National Park, exploring
the island's beaches and many habitats from sub-tropical forests
to the cactus scrub-lands will fill your days with adventure. These
diverse landscapes create a rich habitat for over 800 species of
plants and a diverse array of animals including sea turtles, iguanas,
and even fish-eating bats. St. John is of volcanic origin and one
fun activity is to hike out to Ram's
Head where the volcano first
emerged around 108 million years ago. Walking out to Ram's Head
you will pass fields of barrel cactus which, when blooming, will
provide you with a refreshing little treat - fuchsia fruit. Nearby,
you can also stroll by a salt pond where local ladies harvest sea-salt
in the summer, and the dramatic Drunk
Bay with crashing waves of
the Atlantic Ocean. Some animals you might encounter here on St
John are mongoose (Riki Tiki Tavi), white-tail deer, goats and
donkeys which all roam freely. The St
John National Park (which
covers 2/3 of the island!) offers many tours and activities, some
of which are described here. You can also learn about our history.
