to Calabash Views
& The Dinosaur House: From Cruz Bay take Rt. 10 (Centerline
Road) to Coral Bay. Make a right onto Rt. 107 (see pic below). Drive
past Island Blues Bar and Shipwreck Restaurant. Turn right at Calabash
Boom Rd. Go up steep concrete road then turn right on dirt road (in
4-wheel drive) to telephone pole ES16 and the sign "Andy's Way".
Make a right here onto our concrete road. (There is a detailed map below
too)
Go all the way to the end of this road (two sharp switchback turns on
the way going down) and park on the flat area.
You have arrived at Calabash Views & The Dinosaur House!

There are many signs here, but none say "107" till after
you make the turn.
Welcome to St John!
This is the road coming up
our hill from the main road,
the turn at "Andy's Way" (tele pole ES16), and on to Calabash
Views and the dinosur House.
There are two options:
1 - If you rent a car on St John, you will need to take
a taxi from the airport to the passenger ferry (either Red Hook or the
Charlotte Amalie) and then pick up your car once you get to St John (Cruz
Bay).
2 - If you rent a car on St Thomas at the airport, you
will take the car ferry to St John (Cruz Bay).

Passenger Ferry info:
Red Hook Ferry ($5 per passenger & $2 per luggage item):
First boats leave Cruz Bay at 6:00 & 7:00 AM
First boats leave Red Hook at 6:30 & 7:30 AM
After that boats leave every hour on the hour both ways.
Last boat leaves Cruz Bay at 11:00 PM
Last boat leaves Red Hook at midnight
Charlotte Amalie Ferry ($10.00 per passenger & $2 per luggage item)
Leaves St Thomas 9 AM, 1 PM, and 4 PM
Leaves Cruz Bay 7:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 3:00 PM
Option 2:
Many people find it more convenient (and economical)
to pick up a rental car at the airport on St. Thomas, and to drive to
the car ferry ("the
barge") in Red Hook. My understanding is that only a few of the rental
companies allow their cars to go to St John. The Budget Car rental does,
and is located at the airport.

Dependable Car Rental will allow their cars to go to St John also, but does not provide service of vehicles on St John if it were to break down. They are 3 minutes from the airport, and offer shuttle to and from.

The car ferry schedule:
Round trip with car is approximately $50, including passengers. There are three different companies with ferries, all leaving from the same location, with different schedules. One runs every half hour from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm from Red Hook. The car ferry runs daily, 7 days a week. Weekends skip the first morning run each way.
Take note of the last ferry time to St John - 6 pm - and adjust your flights accordingly.
